The Fourth Of July!

The fourth of July was a crazy weekend. Here we are at the Firework's Display on July 3 (for some reason our city has them on the 3rd instead of the 4th). We had a barbeque and lit some sparklers. It was way fun. Payton LOVES fireworks. We had to keep telling her not to play with them because they were too hot but she is pretty fearless. Sparklers are definately her favorite.
Then on the 4th we set up at the Party in the Park. Then, that night we had the parade and on the 5th we had the downtown Freedom Days. So it was a pretty busy weekend. I don't think we acctually sat down until Sunday!!!

Aztec Fiesta Days - June

So, for those of you who don't know... Bryce and I purchased a small shaved ice stand to take to events during the summer for a little extra cash. And this year Jimmy and Heather have come to some of the events with us and have sold cotton candy.... So, here is our stand at the Aztec Fiesta Days.
First, let me just tell you a few things about this little shindig... every year they make this huge person... thing.... out of paper and sheets and then all the people of the town write down on little sheets of paper one thing they would like to get rid of in their lives and then they burn it. So, on the last night of this "fiesta" they start moving this massive person-thing and people are lighting candles and following it (people are real serious about this-no lie) and Jimmy starts running after it with these fake tiki torches we have that set outside of our Shaved Ice Stand. So, I left (Bryce and Heather to clean up... sorry again!) and went after him with my camera so I could get pics. of Jimmy making a fool out of himself.
Much to my surprise... he was like the most popular guy out there. All the people thought he was so cool cause he was getting all in to the "spirit of the Zorba" and were shouting at him and talking to him as he passed. And Jimmy and I were just cracking up because all he was doing was mocking the tradition. He even went up as they were lighting it and acted like he was lighting it with his "torch"! It was honestly soooooo funny!!! But I swear that's how it's been with him, he makes fun of somebody and they totally think he's great! GO figure!!

Riverfest

Here is we are getting ready to have our first ever Riverfest experience.... little did we know. Other than a few little attractions for the kiddies... and an overload of vendors.... there wasn't much else to do except walk up and down the river. However, we still managed to have a really good time!

Here is Payton getting her face painted by a clown or something? I am not quite sure what she was supposed to be. However, Payton looked adorable!!!

They had a small petting zoo with some goats, a horse and a bunch of lamas. So, here is Bryce and Payton feeding the goats!!!

Hollywood

Cont....
The same day we went to the beach we took Bryce's parents down to Hollywood Blvd. That was.... fun! For those of you who have ever been down to Hollywood Blvd you know what kind of people are down there. It's very strange. It's like Vegas but without the Casinos. We even saw a guy in a straight jacket who was going to chain himself up and light himself on fire.... (Weird Right?) The Chinese theater is way cool though. And Bryce has the same size hands as Arnold Swartzinager. (My Husband is soooooo Buff!!!)
And we walked down the stars and for some reason it's so fun just to see their names on the sidewalk. Even though your not seeing them and you have probablly seen their names a hundred times on a movie preview, it's just different. You get all excited.... But it was way cool. And Marie wanted to see Rodeo Drive. So, we drove over to Beverly Hills and drove down Rodeo. Then we had to leave because we needed to pick up Bryce's Grandma from the airport so we decided to go down Santa Monica Blvd and we drove right next to the LA Temple. It was SO beautiful. I had never seen that Temple before and had I known it was right up from Rodeo I would have made Christy take me their when I went to visit her. But it was way cool!!! But here is a picture of the fam. at the Chinese Theater.....

The Beach

Hello Everyone!!! We are a few weeks behind on updating our blog but we wanted to post these pics so you all could see our trip! The first day we were in Cali. Bryce and I took Payton to the beach. It was so much fun!!! She absolutely loved it. We took off our shoes and played in the water. (It was way too cold to get in!) Here are a few pics of us at the beach....

It was sooooo funny. Payton would chase the water as it was pulling away from her and would run like crazy as it would come back to shore. It was so awesome!!!

October

Well , Bryce and I started a new tradition this year.... we decided we were going to take our family every year to the Pumpkin Patch at Sutherland Farms. They have a bunch of different fall activites for the kids.... a corn maze, a playground that is set inside two feet of corn kernels, a petting zoo and a huge pumpkin patch that you can walk through. So, we decided we are going to let our kids play around and then pick out their favortie pumpkin to carve. So these pictures are of our first annual family trip to Sutherland Farms.

We took a hay ride down to the pumpkin patch. Payton loved it. She has a new "thing" for pumpkins. Bryce kept trying to give her little pumpkins that she could carry by herself but she really didn't want anything to do with them..... She only wanted the biggest ones she could find. It was so funny watching her try and pick up a pumpkin that was basically the same size as she is.
We had a Pumpkin Carving Party over at my parents house. Everyone except Jimmy and Heather came. We had a lot of fun. I thought Payton would hate the insides of the pumpkin but she didn't. She dug right into the pumpkin and tried to help Bryce and I take out all of the "guts".

Halloween started out eventful. Payton and I were out at our house and we were putting away some of her books into her armoire. And apparently during the move one of the pegs that was keeping the shelf up fell out. So, when I went to put the books on the shelf, the shelf and all of the books fell right on Payton's face. She starting screaming and I was trying to get the shelf off of her and I looked at her face and she had a huge gash under her eye. I, of course, paniced and rushed into town to take her to the Immediate Care. Bryce and my mom met me there and they voted that the doctors wouldn't be able to stitch her eye and that we should go home, clean it up, and put some neosporin on it. So, we went back to my mom's and stayed there for the rest of the day. After Bryce got off work he brought over his and Payton's costumes and we got them ready for the night. Payton was a princess and Bryce was a Viking Lord... thing. (You'll See)

After Bryce and Payton were ready, Bryce took Payton Tick or Treating. (Basically we wanted to show her off to our family and friends). He took her to two different Church Parties and to his mom's work. Then they came back to my mom's and Payton helped open the door and give out candy. It was fun watching her prance around twirl. We definitely think she is the cutest little girl ever!!!

The Baby

Sorry it's been a month since our last post but things have been a little hectic. As you know from our previous post, we had an ultra sound. However, when we went in they were not able to find the baby's heart beat. The baby stopped developing around the sixth week. Bryce and I are hanging in there and are very thankful to have the faith that we have and to know that we are sealed together as a family.
